Team Trident Showcase FDF FluidRower at Henley Regatta
Row2Recovery’s Team Trident attended the Henley Regatta at the beginning of the month to promote their upcoming Talisker Whiskey Atlantic Race. FDF is proud to sponsor Jon Armstrong and Jordan Beecher who will be rowing 4,800km across the Atlantic Ocean in December this year. The duo are currently training on two First Degree Fitness Viking Pro water rowing machines under an arduous indoor rowing training program.
More than 120,000 spectators were present at the Henley Regatta over the five race days, with many of them stopping by the Row2Recovery stand to chat with Team Trident and try out the fluid rowers. The stunning wooden frame design of the Viking Pro indoor rower was a popular talking point and those that tried it for themselves reported the natural rowing action with adjustable fluid resistance felt as if they were actually rowing on water.
The Henley Regatta was first held in Oxfordshire, UK in 1839 and has been held every year since, except during the two World Wars. This year saw the second-largest entry ever, with a total of 577 crews from 15 different nations entering the race. 24 medalists from the 2016 Olympic Games competed in the event, including 10 gold-medal winners.
The Talisker Whiskey Atlantic Race is considered to be one of the toughest endurance challenges in the world. Team Trident will row continuously for 40-90 days, in a seven-meter boat containing everything they need to survive. Their journey will begin in La Gomera, in the Canary Islands and end in Antigua, in the Caribbean.
Row2Recovery will donate all funds raised to three charities, which focus on ex-servicemen support and making prosthetics, rebuilding Nepal after the 2015 earthquake, and helping children with a disability or severe illness achieve their dreams. These charities are Blesma, the Gurkha Welfare Trust and Dreamflight.
To celebrate the Regatta, First Degree Fitness together with Fitness Superstore in the UK are offering a 10% discount on all FDF indoor rowers ordered via fitness superstore web throughout July 2017, and using the code FLUIDROWER10. If you visit Team Trident at any of their upcoming events, you’ll be able to enter our competition to win a Viking Pro FluidRower.
