Twin Tank Resistance – 4 Resistance Options

patented tank type designs

At the core of all FluidROWERS is our patented Twin Tank technology, providing easy adjustment for several distinct levels of Fluid Resistance from feather light to Olympic challenge. Each rower has one of our 3 tank types, all with Twin Tank technology comprising the inner, passive (or holding tank) and the outer, active (or resistance tank) as decribed in “How it Works”.

Level 4 & 5 Horizontal Tank Design

Depending on the FluidRower model each will incorporate either a 4 or 5 level adjustable Fluid Resistance Horizontal Tank. The Maximum resistance on Level 4 or Level 5 is the same; the only variation is the resistance increments between the levels. Level 4 or 5 FDF Horizontal Twin Tanks each has 17 litres of Fluid Resistance available.

XL Horizontal Tank Design

FluidROWERS largest format Twin Tanks produce at maximum on Level 10 an extra 65% fluid resistance. The XL Horizontal Twin Tank has extra-large impellers that capture more water and maximise the drag impact against the internal baffles and horizontal tank walls. The XL Horizontal Twin Tank has 20 litres of Fluid Resistance, three more litres than the standard horizontal twin tanks.

Vertical Tank Design

Our Evolution series FluidROWERS have 10 levels of fluid resistance. The Vertical Twin Tank (and near Vertical Tank) has a nine-blade stainless steel impeller that captures a significant amount of water with additional resistance from the fluid dropping to the bottom of the active tank due to gravity and the specific design principles of the vertical tank. The FDF Vertical Twin Tanks has 8 litres of Fluid Resistance for a massive and smooth resistance range.
